From 13 to 16 years I regularly looked after Lea, a daughter of one of my father’s friends (she was 5 to 8 years old back then). I picked her up from kindergarden/primary school, helped her with homework, cooked simple lunch for her sometimes and we played parlour games, fictitious role-playing games or with toys together for many times. I also took her to soccer training. Since the beginning of 2018 I looked after a boy, Moritz, from time to time when his mother had plans for the evening (4,5 years old right now). I read aloud to him and put him to bed (watched over his sleep).
The reasons why I choose to become an au pair are my love for children and the stories my mother told me about her own au pair experience. I choose Norway because of its beautiful nature and the Norwegian’s well-known friendliness.
Meeting friends (playing parlour, online or role-playing games, talking, planing creative projects, going out, doing excursions into nature, learning together for exams), reading books, watching tv series, listening to music, riding my bike, taking walks into nature, riding my bike and doing archery in a club.
